Veterans Day – No School November 11
Book Fair December 1-5
Book fairs are a great opportunity for families to stock up on your favorite titles and possible gifts. Scholastic shares a portion of the sales with the library as well. This helps the library add multiple copies of super popular titles which means students are getting them in their hands faster. That’s a very good thing.
This year, there will be an online fair as well at Scholastic Online Fair for Skyridge LMC. Purchases are sent directly to the fair here at school and then delivered to you or your student. Follow the link above to shop now.
The Skyridge students do a great job of running the book fair, but it’s always nice to have adult volunteers. Send Connie Pappas an email if you’re interested. Finally, please mark your calendars as the fair will be open after school on Thursday, December 4, from 3pm to 5pm.

Call for Entries: Student Film Festival
Yeah, having your schoolwork posted on the fridge at home is cool. But having a video you made posted on the Camas School District website and screened at the Liberty Theatre in downtown Camas? We think that’s pretty cool, too. That’s why we’re excited to announce the first-ever Camas School District Student Film Festival: a video contest created just for K-12 students, and whose finalists will have their short films shown at the Liberty Theatre. Finalist videos may also be featured on the District website, YouTube channel, and social media pages.
Contest ends February 4, 2015. Click here to download the Official Rules.

Robotics Club is open to all students – but with priority given to 6th and 7th grade to learn the system and build our competition team for next fall. Students interested in Robotics Club should go see Ms. Swezea in room 201 to learn more information and pick up an application. All applications must be in Friday, January 16th to be considered for the club. The club will begin on Wednesday, January 28th. The club will meet on Wednesdays in room 201 from 2:45 – 4:00
SKYRIDGE VARIETY SHOW 2015

KNOWLEDGE BOWL BEGINS FEB 2
Knowledge Bowl is kind of like a team Jeopardy competition. A school’s Knowledge Bowl team is made up of a total of 3 or more smaller teams, each consisting of 4 – 6 team members. Our school’s teams compete against other teams from neighboring schools to see who can answer the most trivia questions in math, science, history, English, and social studies. During each competition, teams compete in a written round (45 multiple-choice questions) and two oral rounds (45 questions each). The winning team is based on the total number of questions answered correctly in all three rounds.
Practices begin on February 2 so please be sure to return the required paperwork to the main office by that date.
