Are you an 8th grader who loves acting, creative writing, singing, playing an instrument, dancing, visual art and/or creating films? The Camas High School’s Integrated Arts & Academics program is now accepting applications on our website from current 8th through 11th grade students for next year.
One common question we hear from student applicants is “Do I have to be exceptional at a particular art form?” No. Acceptance into the program is not competitive, it is interest-based, so you don’t have to worry about having an advanced level of techniques; you just need to be highly interested in combining the arts within your core academic classes and working on projects. This is a four-year program that creates a sense of community for arts-minded students within the large high school. Applications are available on the IAA website. The deadline for applications is Friday, March 16, midnight.
And mark your calendar… Interested students and their families are encouraged to attend the IAA Program Information Meeting on Wednesday, February 21, 6:00-7:30 in the North Commons at CHS.
